Valérie Taly is CNRS research director (DR1) and head of the Translational Research And Microfluidics group (TRAM) within the MEPPOT laboratory (Personalized Medicine, Pharmacogenomics and therapeutic Optimization) hosted in the Cordeliers research center (Paris).

Her research aims at developing new microfluidics tools for research against cancer in strong collaboration with clinicians and researchers in oncology.

In particular, her team has been a pioneer in the development of digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) to detect cancer specific genetic or epigenetic alterations, in the validation its clinical usefulness in particular in the field of liquid biopsies and in the search for new biomarkers in oncology.

She is co-author of 121 scientific articles and co-inventor of 13 patents.

She is regularly invited to board, committees and jurys both at the national and international level.

She is also co-founder, alongside Doctor Florine Maes and Professor Jean-christophe Baret, of the start-up EMULSEO that develops and produce formulations for droplet-based microfluidics.

After studying at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom (Bsc Hon. Virology and Microbiology and a PhD in Biology), Magali continued her career as a post-doctoral researcher in virology in the United States, in particular within the framework of the research against bioterrorism at the University of Southern California, within the prestigious Pacific SouthWest Regional Center of Excellence (PSWRCE).

Back in France as a post-doctoral researcher at the Ecole Polytechnique, Magali co-founded STILLA Technologies in 2013, a company developing and marketing innovative digital PCR solutions, and became operationally involved in the development of the company as Director of Applications.

Passionate about innovation and strategic development of start-ups, Magali also worked for SATT Lutech as Director of Licensing and Commercial Operations, before joining METHYS Dx in 2023 as COO then CEO.

Muriel has over 15 years of experience in Audit and Finance. She holds a dual business school degree (SKEMA) and a Master’s in Accounting-Control-Audit (CCA).

Muriel joined Grant Thornton’s Paris office for 5 years in financial audit. She then worked as Financial Controller at AFD Technologies (IT services) for 2 years, followed by 4 years as Administrative and Financial Manager for Burda International’s French subsidiaries.

She later entered the innovation ecosystem as CFO at SATT Lutech for nearly 4 years, overseeing finance, HR, office management, and IT.

Antoine holds an engineering degree from Chimie ParisTech and a PhD in molecular biology from the Université Paris Sciences et Lettres. During his thesis, he focused on the detection of miRNAs and proteins.

Co-author of a patent, Antoine continued his career as a post-doctoral researcher at ESPCI Paris, where he worked on the development of a new detection technology that is specific, ultrasensitive and can detect a large number of markers per test (high multiplexing potential) in collaboration with METHYS Dx.

Jean-François Taly has more than 15 years of experience in data analysis and bioinformatics pipeline development. After a PhD in structural bioinformatics, he developed new interests in comparative bioinformatics and NGS data analysis.

He has worked in internationally renowned institutes and directed a data analysis platform (Centre for genomic regulation/CRG, Spain, 2013-2015).

Jean-François was the Head of Clinical Bioinformatics at Eurofins Biomnis (Lyon) where he contributed to the establishment of an ISO15189 certified clinical sequencing industrial activity (2016-2023). He has team management experience gained from both experiences.

Aurelia gained her engineering diploma in biology from CNAM, after a BTS in bioanalysis & control. Aurelia has over 7 years of experience in molecular and cellular biology, and a strong experience in oncology (Ligue nationale contre le cancer).

Aurelia has strong technical skills, as well as extensive experience in lab management, management of biobanks and databases.

Hanane gained a Master 2 pro in Biotechnology, Genomics, Biotherapy, as well as another Master 2 in Sciences, Engineering, and Health Management, specializing in cellular and molecular signalisation.

Hanane has 7 years lab experience in biotechnologies for the oncology field. In addition to strong technical skills, Hanane has also gained expertise in the management of biobanks, as well as quality control.

After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Barbara earned her Master’s degree in Health Biology/Biological Engineering and Therapeutic Applications, awarded in 2023 by the University of Reims. Barbara completed her master’s internship in the METHYS Dx team, working in particular on the development of a multiplex digital PCR test for monitoring patients with colorectal cancer, and joined the company as an R&D engineer in September 2023.

Justine holds a Master’s degree in Health Biology/ Molecular Oncology and Biotherapies, awarded in 2020 by the Faculty of Science and Technology of Limoges. Justine has completed several internships, notably at the Institute for Cancer Research in Oslo, working on the use of liquid biopsies for the characterization of sarcomas. Justine then worked on the detection of methylation biomarkers in cancer, and the development of associated methodologies as a study engineer within the Microfluidics and Translational Medicine team of the MEPPOT laboratory, before joining METHYS Dx in September 2023.

Thomas holds an engineering degree awarded in 2020 by the Ecole de Biologie Industrielle de Cergy. Thomas then worked on the development of a test for detecting the viral load of SARS-CoV2 in the blood using digital PCR, at the European Hospital Georges Pompidou, before joining the Cordeliers Research Center in 2021. His work as a research engineer then focused on the identification of biomarkers for monitoring COVID19, as well as HPV-induced cancers, using digital PCR. Thomas joined METHYS Dx in September 2023 as an R&D engineer in the service department.

After obtaining a degree in chemical engineering from Chimie Paris Tech in 2021 and a Master’s degree in microfluidics awarded by the University of Paris Sciences & Letters, Quentin joined the SPM team at the Gulliver laboratory of ESPCI to work on the optimization of molecular programs and DNA complex structures for multiplex and digital detection of microRNAs using microfluidics and flow cytometry. Quentin is currently a CIFRE doctoral student at METHYS Dx to develop and characterize new detection methods applicable to liquid biopsy.

Strategy and Innovation Lead. He has over 20 years of experience in leadership, product development and operations in early-stage deeptech and diagnostic companies. In previous roles, Brian managed a R&D team at Raindance Technologies, a pioneering digital PCR company (acquired by Bio-Rad).

Other roles include Director at Qiagen, (NGS sequencing platform); VP of Development and Operations at Torpedo Dx (liquid biopsy, CTCs, liver cancer surveillance); and COO at Honeycomb Bio (single cell RNAseq).
Brian is based in Boston, USA.

Emmanuel joined METHYS Dx in January 2025 as a consultant to advise the leadership team on commercial development of molecular biology tools, with over 25 years of experience in clinical research and diagnostics, mainly in oncology.

From 2006 to 2020, he played a key role in IntegraGen’s commercial growth, developping complex projects such as SeqOIA and the Institut Pasteur’s P2M platform. As COO at OncoDNA, he established strategic partnerships with Twist Bioscience and C2i Genomics.

A graduate of a BETC in Business and Administration Management from the University of Paris Descartes, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management combined with a preparatory program at the University of Paris-Saclay, Hilary is now a Master’s student at SKEMA Business School.

She joined METHYS Dx in September 2025 as a digital marketing assistant and data analyst on a apprenticeship, where she contributes to the development of the company’s communication strategy as well as to the use of data to support scientific and commercial projects.
